Need a little reassurance

I've just been accepted an LPN program and me and my family are super excited. I have a 3 yr old and I work full-time, but I know going this course will better our lives. My problem is, every time I turn around I'm being told it's going to be impossible to raise my son (I'm a single mother), work and go to school. I know there's others who juggled everything and still succeeded. It's just got me starting to doubt myself. Read More...

I am so annoyed with my communication skill

I am in an ADN program and is passing the lecture portion of the class, but my communication is turning my experience during clinical into a bad one. English is my second language and I have a difficult time getting English words in my mouth. During clinical today, I told my instructor that I would be giving "glucose" when I was about to give insulin to a patient and my instructor corrected me. I am so upset with myself for not speaking clearly and for reacting this way. I don't want to quit nursing school because my communication skill is not great. I am about to finish my first year in 2 weeks and I don't want to quit because my communication skill is horrible. Read More...

Why I want to become a nurse

My choice to become a nurse is really multifaceted. There is no single reason that stands out, but it's a combination of wanting to help people, a deep admiration for nurses that I know, and the knowledge that the pay scale is better than what we have coming in now.

This is the 1st time I am posting because I am desperate to know what you all studied for the ATI Exam (fundamentals).
