Why do some choose to pursue BSN over ASN first?The ASN program is 18 months. Once you graduate and pass boards, you can nurse. But from what I understand, if you are enrolled in the BSN program from the start, you cannot nurse until you've graduated the program. I can't see why anyone would choose to take the long route. How in the world does one pay for nursing school!I am a stay at home mom with two bachelor's of science degrees and am wanting to start Marian University's accredited, accelerated, online BSN program. Since it is accelerated, they strongly recommended you don't work during school and my federal aid is capped at $6500 or so per semester. How in the world could anyone afford this program, especially if you aren't working?? Private student loans?? They have a guide that floats around answering questions and explaining the various body systems. The displays were amazing and tastefully done. If you are a male can you ask to only work for male patients?I am taking the CNA course with a view to becoming either CNA or HHA. During the course I was shocked that in caring for female patients you have to view and touch the female genitalia which to me is a bit too much as a male and I would rather not do.
