Here's a "world's worst patient" tale....with a twist. Wilma is, quite simply, a terrorist in an elderly woman's body. She is verbally and physically abusive. She calls 50 times a shift, then refuses care "because you took too long to get here". She's paranoid and thinks everyone in the building is out to get her. She loves to pit staff members against each other and cackles evilly when she makes them cry. She eats nurses for breakfast and snacks on CNAs between meals. She is......Mrs. Meanjeans!

While in Vegas a few weeks ago, I was in the pool with a few buddies cooling off from the heat. We overheard some other guys talking about paintball, which we enjoy as well. We had some good conversations about paintball. After a short while we all started asking where we were from, what we did for a living etc...
Okay so I know that I may get a bunch of responses that I am not looking for with this post, but I wanted to get opinions about nursing jobs or specialties that are not extremely stressful. I am aware that nursing is a stressful profession and everyone experiences some deal of stress on any job, however I currently work in critical care which is downright physcially and mentally exhausting. I am looking to move into a specialty that doesn't require so much physical labor as well as a slower pace, and patients with lower acuity.
I am a nursing student in my final semester of nursing school. I am greatly looking forward to finally becoming a nurse. I was wondering how many of you sign your names:
Jane/John Doe, RN, BSN

I am currently doing my clinical practicum on a very busy ICU unit. I feel like I'm doing very well given that there is SO MUCH to know and SO LITTLE room for error. My preceptor has given me lots of positive feedback about things I do well and I ask every what I need to improve on (as well as working with other nurses), and I find that this has helped me learn a great deal. HOWEVER.
A nurse at clinical thought this was very strange and would not refer to my teacher by her first name. What do you call your teachers?
Hi - I'm currently in the course and can't believe how much time I'm committing to studying. Is this course the one that requires the most study time are are all nursing courses this way?

A co-worker and I were making an occupied bed when we got into a debate. When you roll up the dirty linen and then lay out the clean, right before you roll the person to the other side of the bed, does the clean linen go over the TOP of the dirty or UNDERNEATH.
My thought was to go on top so the dirty touches underneath the clean.
