I believe all nurses are made through knowledge and experience, but people are born with the personality to care, love, and nurture. Those are many of the qualities a nurse carries and it takes someone special to become a nurse. A nurse is someone who is selfless, treating their patients the way they would like to be treated, and has an overwhelming love for all people.

A lot of y'all remember the thread "All is not well in the kingdom", where I talked about the horrible job and subsequent termination I had had. I had a very promising interview Tuesday, and gave the name and home phone number of an NP that I had worked with at that clinic as a reference. The reference called me last night.
Read More I was just reading a post in another thread and came across the following statement that alarmed me: "i wish that i had chosen nursing in the first place because i need a recession Proof career". I understand that the economy is facing, and will continue to face, hard times. I also realize that as a result of this people are now more then ever looking into job security when choosing a career. It scares me however, that people are now choosing nursing as a profession based on the thought that it is said to be 'recession proof' and not because they truly have a passion for it.
Read More Student Discussion Anyone out there get real tired about the constant drama, anxiety, and non stop worrying exerted by your female classmates? To me, it seems like the majority of them have nothing to talk about other than nursing school, tests, and frustrating about clinicals/instructors. This becomes very irritating for me anyways. Read More For some reason I'm not able to grasp the sensory system. Its so frustrating. I felt the same about Fluids and elytes however, I think sensory is worst for me. I'm wondering how much of an advantage it is to speak Spanish, especially in the competitive environment for landing new grad jobs. What do you all think? How much of an advantage is it to speak Spanish? I'm thinking of taking Spanish classes this summer.
