During these hard financial times, I have heard management repeatedly tell staff 'you are lucky to have a job'. Now whilst we appreciate we are indeed fortunate to have employment being told this repeatedly to control a bad working environment is in my opinion bullying, in truth they are getting away with during this period of hardship amongst our community.

Because we should simply be celebrated for having our very presence on the floor lol! Just playing But for real I think we do deserve our own week, lets look at what we do above and beyond: Heavy lifts and always being asked to "assist" with lifting patients. Dealing with the combative patients and family members. Being given the heaviest groups because "were the men". And many more So my fellow male cohorts, ARE YOU WITH ME!?

I'm doing some research about mental illness, particularly depression. Can anyone please give me some feedback about how to manage and care for a patient diagnosed o/c depression? I believe there would be things "out of the norm" to look out for or take care of when dealing with patients diagnosed with the mental illness depression, but I'm not quite sure what they might be.

I have been placed at a hospital with ANOTHER tough clinical instructor - I haven't met her yet, but apparently she does it military style. My previous instructor was quite hard too, and although i learned a lot and worked my butt off to impress & please her, I found the semester VERY stressful. Grrr... i'm on an acute surgical ward this time. Right now, i'm in my 2nd year, 5th semester out of 10. Can anyone offer me advice on how to deal with this? I get stressed out really easily and seem to work less well when someone is YELLING at me.

I live north of San Fran and have yet to find a New Grad Program. I've been on Allnurses since last summer when I started studying to pass the boards. I used Allnurses especially the "random facts" thread which helped me pass the boards with flying colors. My family is ready to move out of the area because there is no new grad program avail out here.
