I'm not flaky, lazy, or stupid...

Hope. Strength. Survive. I have ADHD. Not the cool Tom Cruise/Ty Pennington kind, where you can act out and make lots of money, either. I have the kind where people label you as stupid, flaky, and lazy. I wanted people to have an idea of how it feels to never be in control of your own life. To get a glimpse of the nightmare of doing your best, and never, ever being good enough.

Nursing Behind the Wall

When non medical people ask me what I do for a living the usual response is "...that's interesting?!" When nurses ask the most common response is "Why?" [Toon] What superhero are you?

All nurses exemplify super heroes. Whether it's the nurse who comes in to cover a sick co-worker, to the nurse who goes the extra mile at work for their patient. We may not climb tall buildings, leap over cars or save people from giant apes but we all contribute in some super way. The nurse that ensures their pt is turned in a regular basis to prevent a pressure ulcer, the nurse that encourages kangaroo care for a preemie or the nurse that juggles six med surg pts - all of these are super heroes. Tell us what super hero YOU are?

Frustrated with angry, demeaning doctors

I have so much anxiety and frustration. I've yet to meet a nice doctor--even a urologist was throwing things around because he couldn't find something. It's literally making me question my want to be a nurse. What kind of career is that? Words or wisdom... anything?
