BSN Only? Give me a break!!
I asked my employee why after working 13 years as their Executive Nurse on Med/Surg/Peds that they thought I needed a BSN. No answer. I told them to stuff it!
It saddens me that at the end of my career Nursing still has its quirks like they did in the 80's. Remember the period when medical assistants where hired to work in ICUs? That fiasco lasted less then a year.
God bless all of you who have had to face this new fiasco of BSN only apply. I am wondering who agrees with BSN only need to apply?

My poor husband. Apparently at 3AM, I sat up in bed, shook him violently awake, and started yelling "Code Silver! Get under the bed! Go! I'll get the door, just get under the bed!" For one of the first times in our lives, he felt a little worried about my choice of profession.

Technical difficulties - not charting
Where I work the computer system is having issues and we are unable to chart our regular visits. What are the legalities of not charting in a timely manner? I am very nervous about going longer than 24 hours without documenting.

Press-Gainey and other satisfaction surveys drives the consumer choices for healthcare to some extent. Our patients are more savvy than they once were and many now have choices in the hospital that they use as well as choice among providers.
