Salary vs per hour for floor nurses

Would like some input regarding being a salaried bedside nurse. If you are salaried do you like it? Do you get adequately compensated if you work over 40 hrs? Does it make you fell more"professional"? Any input would help. I am salaried and so far am not to fond of the time I am technically not getting paid for when I stay late to finish work and charting. Masters Vs DNP

I have heard varying degrees of information regarding obtaining a MSN and DNP in relation to becoming a nurse practitioner in different states.
