Nursing Career Advice
I've been a nurse-midwife for many years, and am ready for an entirely new career direction within nursing, outside a hospital setting. Any suggestions for great, unusual nursing jobs? My past experience has also included HIV nursing here and in Africa, research, home health, and early intervention (kids 0-3). The part of nursing that I like most is patient education and empowerment, as well as working with families. I'm a strong writer and I like continually learning new things. Have you had a great nursing job that I should consider?

Because I think my brain was going too fast trying to learn everything and trying to help my patient. I mislabeled the ffp's as platelets.
Has anyone taken it? What did you think of it? Tips for surviving the exams?
Spoke with my manager this week and he said it's something they'll pay for even though it costs a bit more than a re-certification. Looks like it may be fun, but I've heard from other nurses that they're really brutal in the practicals.
Emergency Nursing
Yes, it's that time of year again ... time for awful gifts, or none at all! Haha. Seriously, thanks for all you do, my fellow ED nurses ... you rock!!
