A random collection of nursing and student humor from the author of "The Paws That Refresh Us: A Series of Unfortunate Events".
I've just finished marking some of my first Master's level assignments for a part time lecturers post and in the work there are such common, and easily rectified themes losing marks for the students I wondered if a guide in my blog would be useful. The following are some very basic tips to help support students, of all levels when they are writing an academic paper

Now that I have your attention..I have to say that I am a LPN. I turned down a RN program because of the way I see health care (particularly nursing) going. Seems to be slipping down hill at a sad rate. Pay is being cut, nurses are being laid off left and right, and thousands of BSN grads have been searching for ANY kind of position that they can get...some for over a year. What makes it worse, is, a lot of the new grads I know live here in NYC..where I live. You'd think it's better up here, but it's not.
I had to tell a pt husband to leave as there was home/?abuse issues. The husband and patient got extremely angry and I had to call security to escort him out. When pt husband left I was very shaken over this situation as I was only a nsg student at the time. So I told the charge I was going to get a coffee and step outside for some air. When I went outside, the husband was pacing in the parking lot staring at me.
I am currently a pre-nursing student, but I'm a bit hazy about my potential future as a nurse. I love the nursing model; I want to care for a patient, not just treat their disease. Sadly, I love the medical model as well and I'm torn between the two. I've considered mid-level care, but I'm unsure of what I would be content with. For a time, I was highly considering DNP or CRNA, but cynics have stated I could finish med school in the same amount of time.

My experience in the exam during the 1st take was horrible.. I relied on the Kaplan review. They only give u a review book and the questions in their q bank were so vague and confusing.. the live classes were just the instuctor going over couple of questions that u can easily read from the rationale at home and i think the instructor would have gotten the answer wrong without her folders...
I have found study groups to be a colossal waste of time. Everything you need to know is in the book and anything confusing can be googled much quicker than any alternative.
Now that I've started nursing school everyone and their dog has heavily emphasized the importance of forming study groups to survive. Can someone explain to me how utilizing a study group can be beneficial to me?
I am in my first semester of nursing school. I absolutely love it, and I'm learning so much, so fast, but I've already had moments where I think, "How am I going to finish 5 semesters of this?" There is so much stress that sometimes, I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Regional Discussion - New York
The interview was in early December. When I arrived there was no room avail for the interview, the manager and i wonder around until we were place in a conference room. Soon after the interview started we were interrupted a total of 5 times by staff members. One interruption was to placed another interviewee in the same room to wait to be interviewed so she was listening to our meeting. Another interruption was to place another manager with her interviewee in the same room to have their interview. So now we have two interviews in the same room and one interviewee waiting to be interviewed.
