There is nothing more rewarding than Psychiatric nursing. With 16 years of experience, nothing prepared me for this eye opening encounter as did this tiny little 81 year old lady.

I am a new grad, and my first day off of orientation is tomorrow... and we are set to get 2+ feet of snow in an area that only sees that much snow once every 15 or so years. While I've been in the healthcare setting for quite some time, I've never experienced a snow quite like this during my career. I understand my responsibility to work, but I also want to keep in mind my safety out on the roads (I have a 35 mile drive to the hospital). At what point do you decide that you just can't make it into work? Do you always attempt to make it in, or do you look out the window and make that decision?

Hello. I am a new RN. I have one degree a BS, and then I just got my BSN. How do I sign my name?? My hubby is buying me a scrub jacket with my name on it for Christmas and I want to make sure I have it right. So would it be my name then RN, BS, BSN?? I got the BS first-- I did study the sciences with a concentration in Pre Med, so I do want to list the first BS degree as well as my nursing degree.

I am consistently getting 70% of the questions right on the quiz and assessment CD practice questions and I am wondering how I figure out what that means in terms of passing. What percentage were other people getting right in Saunders before passing (or failing) the NCLEX? I'm trying to get an idea of how close or far away I am from an acceptable passing level because I have NO clue what 70% of Saunders questions means in terms of passing NCLEX...
Urine, Blood, or Hair? I'm just curious, as I've had a hair test done before and they cut 2 chunks out!! Not sure how that would look now considering my hair is so short!!
Regional Discussion - California
I'm planning to move to Cali next summer and I wanted to know if people can help me learn a bit more about nursing in California ... I would like to know what the starting pay is like, and if there are jobs available for RNs. I've looked on a few websites for a few hospitals, but a lot of the positions I have come across are mainly management related. I also wanted to clarify...
