Since I've presented my top 10 list of the things I love about nursing, it's time now for a visit to the darker side. Here are some decidedly UN-lovely thoughts I've entertained from time to time:
1) If you yell "HELP!" one. more. time. without a really, really, REALLY good reason for it, I am going to come down there, shut the door, and give you a good dose of pillow therapy... read more

So I have finally come to the end of a grueling 4 year BSN program, and likely won't be valedictorian, nor will have an opportunity to stand up and make a toast, so I figure that this a place where I can take the podium and speak. One girl told me CNA's basically deal with the nastiest aspects of nursing and for the lowest pay. She told me I would be changing adult diapars all day for $7/hr. read more

Anyone currently working for SHPS or Humana?
I am interested in applying for one of their jobs and would like some general info on the types of positions they have, what the company environment is like, career-tracks, etc. I don't think bed-side nursing is ever going to be for me and I'm researching other areas I can pursue as a career utilizing my nursing knowledge. I am also considering Home Health, MRDD, but am really leaning toward something totally away from patient care. read more
