Does God Make Mistakes?

by itsmeemtp

When the doctor had finished the exam, I asked, “Is he receiving physical therapy?” I wondered about his contractures in his legs. The doctor looked at me and sort of laughed. "No! I am trying to convince him mom to sign a DNR order, but she won't! This is his life, this is the best he is ever going to have. This is no life for anyone. He should not have ever gotten this far."

Nurses and Organ Donation

by DolceVita

I am curious about what nurses think of this personal choice. Do you want your organs donated, assuming they are viable, after your death? What about the organs of a loved one (if they had left no instructions)? Does anyone think nurses (and other HCPs) should become organ donors to show an example to the public?

I'm 39 and want to become a nurse.

by quinnsite

Many people in my life think I'm crazy leaving a good paying career at this stage in my life. Fact is, though, that being an attorney so goes against my core as a person. I do not find the work fulfilling at all. To the contrary, the advesarial nature of the work takes it's toll physiacally and emotionally. The idea of helping people; caring for people has always been a large part of who I am. And in fact, all these persoanlity/employment/interest tests I've taken repeatedly reveal nursing as a strong match for who I am.

I really dont mean to rain on anyones parade, but seriously...

by mariposabella

I really dont want to discourage anybody from going into nursing. I just want to know If Im the only person who is considering not doing nursing if the gov't goes through with universal health care. I was talking to my manager about this tonight at work and he was saying that Im probably not going to want to do nursing since nurses will make $9 or $10 an hour. I know nursing isnt about money, but that kind of money isnt worth going into nursing. You cant even live off that amount of money! Nurses now say they dont get paid enough for how hard they work and how much they have to put up with. Am I the only thats thinking like this?
