Confused about how to become a nurse

I am confused and hope you can provide some clarity for me. I want to become a nurse with a BSN but dont know exactly what to do. I live in the Bay Area in California and I just graduated high. I am currently taking a summer class at De Anza College. I thought it would be simple; take the courses listed on assist.org and GE courses and then transfer to a 4 year university. But now I'm find in out about waitlists ... I've read about people being on waitlists for years. I've also heard that private nursing schools don't have waitlists, is this true?

Denial of financial aid for previous associates degree

I have worked my tail off to be accepted into the Practical Nursing program. I got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that I am ineligible for financial aid due to already having an Associates degree. I wanted to see if anyone had this problem. Did you appeal? Did you win?

Why should I become a CNA before nursing school?

BSN programs are harder than ADN

I have friends who are both in traditional ADN and BSN nursing programs. The question came up about "which program is harder". As I told my friends who are in ADN programs I just feel that BSN programs are harder.  Does anyone else feel this way?

[Toon] Acronyms: Where's the COW?

Ok so as nursing students we learn many different acronyms. Which one has gotten you into trouble? I know when working at a religious based hospital we were not allowed to use. SOB we had to say shortness of breath. And of course you never want to ask "where's the COW?" even when you mean computer on wheels.
