2014 Wage Survey For CNAs, Medical Assistants, HHAs, PCTs: Post Here!

Sadly, far too many allied healthcare workers are not always paid what they are worth. Knowledge is power, so wage surveys have the capability to empower workers by generating immensely helpful information about pay rates.

Nurses aides, medical assistants, patient care technicians, home health aides, and other types of unlicensed assistive personnel are extremely important to the flawless functioning of our healthcare system and to society as a whole.

Unfortunately, too many allied healthcare workers are not always paid wages that correspond with their high levels of motivation, professionalism, dedication, thoroughness, multi-tasking capabilities and years of experience. Members who want to contribute to the unofficial wage survey for 2014 should feel free to post their answers with the information in the following order... Read More...

Financial aid suspension

My school requires 67% completion, I met 60%, thus leading to my financial aid being suspended. This was not a case of me slacking off or not caring. I managed to pull an A and a B+ in the classes I was able to complete, but the problem is that my family and I are currently in the midst of a foreclosure and dealing with that and trying to move took up a lot of my time. We are currently living with my aunt and uncle in their house.

I plan to appeal the suspension because I am an otherwise good student with a 3.8 GPA and honestly, I can't continue without some sort of aid. Have you ever had your financial aid suspended or know someone who has? Did you appeal? What was your experience? Read More...

I passed my NCLEX! Book Review here

I just passed my NCLEX exam on December 19, 2013 with 76 questions at exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes. So, I received my ATT at October 17th, and took my exam on December 19th. I studied for 8 hours, but sometimes skips a day of studying because I'm kinda lazy. So here are the materials that I used to review!

1) Lippincott's Q & A Review for NCLEX-RN. Rating: 9.5/10
This book really helped me to study and focus for each system. I'm always getting a low score, but I just focused on the rationale and wrote down some notes. The questions are not like the actual NCLEX-RN exam but this book will help you to develop your critical thinking abilities.

2) The Famous Saunders NCLEX-RN Examination Comprehensive review book... Read More
