PDN and boundaries
I am curious of others opinions on private duty nursing and the extensive boundary crossing that is seen in this type of setting. I've seen it all, gifts, vacationing together, planned lunches, visiting while on maternity leave. Both sides-family and nurse. |
Ageism - 61 Yr Old & Need to go Back to Work after 3 Yrs off Taking Care of Wife
I'm a 61 year old male RN with 25 years of experience in hospitals at Med Surg and some Home Health experience. I haven't worked in 3 years because my wife stroked and I've had her at home, arguing with insurance and disability entities. She's paralyzed. |
The right to an opinionI have been working as an RN for 6 months now. Enough time to rub the innocence and naivety off of anyone I think. My position is in a long term care, and seems to be equal helpings of caring for the geriatric population and providing support for families with loved ones in our home. |
Refusing to floatThe reason for the floating is because other units aren't properly staffed. Example: full time and prns ask off on the same day and everyone gets it, therefore no one is covering the floor. |
