The upgrade is a success. But, we believe it can be better. Over the past few days, we have been merging your ideas with ours. I believe allnurses.com is much better because of it.
Changes implemented based on your ideas: Post Count Stars, Who Like Pop-Up, Likes Count, User Info Box on posts, User Post History, Multi-Quote, Cheers, and so much more ... For all those who have participated - Thank you.

My issue right now is this sense of dread when I leave the hospital. For example, today I did a twelve hour shift. It went really, really well. I felt really good taking care of two fairly (sorta) stable patients. My preceptor didn't have to correct anything all day. I asked tons of questions about CRRT...
Some of my fellow new nurse friends and I were talking the other day and were curious to hear from more experienced people...
How long did you stay at your first job? Do you feel it is unprofessional to leave after only a year?
I know there are training programs for experienced nurses who have been out of the field for a while. Is there anywhere in the country I could go and just get all that nursing knowledge I didn't learn well enough in the first place? (Like repeating RN school for someone who already is a RN?)
I had two bad nights in a row and really just need to vent in a safe place where hopefully some other people will understand.
I'm pretty much over what happened the night before, but last night was the icing on the cake - couldn't take the pressure and had a breakdown in our "nutrition room" in front of about 4 other nurses.
For children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who fail to respond to medication or whose parents are opposed to pharmacotherapy, supplements or specific dietary patterns may be useful, according to a review published online Jan. 9 in Pediatrics.
I recently had a pt. with multiple drips through one triple lumen central line. I am new and recently off orientation where I had multiple preceptors who each told me something different. I have searched both allnurses and google for an answer to my question but have not really found anything.
Is there a national shortage of Nurse Practitioners who are willing to precept? I am finding it very difficult to find a preceptor, MD's are very quick to offer what they have, unfortunately as a NP student I have to have a FNP/NP for at least 50% of my 704 hrs. As Nurses/NPs we are asking and fighting for autonomy but not willing to help train more NPs to fight this cause. It is so easy for PA's to have their rotations lined up for them but can not do that for nursing? I am seeing more and more schools (Not just online schools) shifting that responsibility onto students...
