First Year After Nursing Licensure
Excelsior graduate struggling with hand eczema. I'm concerned that hand washing on a full time schedule will be a problem. Should I mention this in a job interview? Should I seek part time employment? In general what interview questions should I ask? What kinds of questions should I be prepared to answer?
I love what I do, and who I do it for, but on this new floor there is NO teamwork. There is one particular CNA (we only have 3 day shift CNAs) who just will not do her job, and will attack the nurses who ask her to do her job. I watched one day as a nurse had two cath lab patients arrive at the same time. THe charge nurse asked a CNA, in front of the other bad CNA to take vitals on one of them. The bad CNA then waited for the assigned nurse to come around to scold her for asking for help. The assigned nurse told her that she never asked for help, and didn't ask the charge nurse to seek it out either.

Critical Care Nursing
I have considered a lot of details regarding my future career and there are many areas of nursing I think would be very satisfying and rewarding, not only personally but intellectually. I am very interested in taking care of preemies and babies, not only because I find children and babies' bodily functions less disgusting, but also because I am intellectually interested in caring for them and their families.
I am not sure if I can handle the sad aspects of the job.
What are you seeing most for bedside procedures, like intubation? We always used to use succ, along with versed, ketamine, etc. Now am seeing a trend towards etomidate. I'm wondering what others are seeing. I like that etomidate doesn't affect cardiovascular numbers like succ does. Wondering if this trend is a good one or if I'm missing something?
