A Death's Memory

Sam is one of the two postgraduates at Bunderburg's children ward. Working alongside her preceptors and arguing with the other postgraduate Anthony on a regular basis, life seems as unchangeable as ever. Well it did until Anthony starts acting a little strange. Was Anthony ok? And what was with the playroom he kept talking about? It was all turning into some creepy mystery.

Cost of Interacting With Payers Higher in U.S. Than Canada

Screening for tumor marker CA 19-9 followed by targeted endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) when the level is elevated represents a feasible approach for identifying early pancreatic adenocarcinoma in a high-risk population, according to a study published in the July issue of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

A Story of an NCLEX-RN passer

I just found out last tuesday that i passed the NCLEX-RN! I actually can't believe it until now, I am 21 years old and proud to be a Registered Nurse. The most memorable, exciting, happiest moment I have ever felt in my entire life. After all the hardworks, stress, and even tears got instantly paid off when i saw my name popped out in the BRN site. This is the most wonderful gift that i could ever give to my parents. They were very proud of me. Priceless.

RN responsibility--how far do you go in being a first responder?

Two situations occurred today that made me start to wonder exactly what my responsibility is, now that I have my RN license, in the event of an accident, etc.

First, I saw a woman slumped over on a bench in town, but firefighters were already there checking her out (they are typically the first responders in our town and have AEDs and such on their trucks). Then this afternoon, from my home I heard a car collision somewhere outside the neighborhood but not that far away. Within 2 minutes I heard sirens, and it turns out that the accident was on a main road near my house...

The "perfect" job...

What do y'all expect from a job? What are deal breakers that you won't tolerate? What do you think are reasonable expectations? Some places stink. There's nothing redeemable about them. But, most places (and it's different for everyone) have pros and cons.

Online Programs... good or bad? Your opinion please!

I'm looking for an RN to BSN program and many of them are online. I'm definitely considering it because it will allow me to get experience while still continuing my education. However, I am worried that I will not have the same educational experience as I would in an actual school setting.

I would truly appreciate for people to post their online education experiences and whether or not you would recommend online education to others.

Regional Discussion - Indiana

Marian University online program?

Just kind of looking into this. A couple questions - How and when do they do their clinicals? Can someone give me an idea what the clinical schedules are like? What days and times and do they give you options or do you have to just pick what they give you? Also, do they have any requirements for distance from the clinical sites because honestly I am not really in the radius of Indianapolis, but if the clinicals were in anyway flexible I'd be willing to look at a long commute.
