How does your unit determine who floats?

I got floated yesterday and was told today I’m next to float again. I asked how I just floated yesterday. I was told it goes off float hours for the year and I now only have 12, thus am the lowest. Every other hospital I've known goes off who hasn’t floated in the longest. How does your hospital do it?

Graduated a year ago. Working COVID clinic. I had a client who began to experience fainting. I caught him before he fell off the chair. I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do besides ask for help. My heart was beating so fast. I didn’t think of doing other interventions. Others came to help and took over. I feel so incompetent.

Can someone please tell me how I can nicely tell my educator that I don't want to orient a new hire for 12 weeks. I told her before that I was open to the idea but I don't want to do it anymore. 12 weeks is a long time.
