Sometimes we can't. Read More...

Freaking out after reading how many people have failed NCLEX!

Is it really that bad? Taking it on 01/10/13! Maybe I'm not prepared enough and should wait longer? My instructors told us that we have a much better chance of passing it the first time if we take it within a month of graduating. Just graduated 12-12-12, but knowing that there are many that don't pass it the first time freaks me out. Read More...

Why I Chose Nursing and Continue to Choose Nursing

People are drawn to the nursing profession for many different reasons. For me, my beginnings in the healthcare field started by chance. An opportunity to work as a Hospitality Representative in the Emergency Room was offered to me as a young woman just finishing High School. Despite the fact that my mother and aunt were both nurses, I had no inkling what was in store for me, let alone the path that it would lead me down. I was captivated by the influence that the nurses working in the ER had on those that they were helping. It awakened a deep desire within me to provide help and care to those in need. That desire grew with each step I made in the healthcare system. As I gained more knowledge and advanced my career, my ability to help my patients was empowered. Read More...

Too young/ early in life to be in Nursing Program?

Am I too young/inexperienced to be in Nursing school? Most of my classmates are older than me, very many with cars and their own homes and children etc, and here i am still at home with my parents helping me get through school so that I can be a nurse. I know for a fact that some of them look down on me because I'm not "independent" and my parents are helping me get through this. Read More...

What do you think of your instructors?

I am currently in a masters program with my ultimate goal of being a nursing instructor in addition to a bedside nurse. Although I remember some of my instructors from school, I am just curious from all you nursing students out there, what makes your instructors good at what they do? What do you like about the way they teach? What would you change or what do you hate? Read More...
