There's a Mousetrap In My Med Cart

by 99percentangel

The law requires that all meds be given within one hour before or after the medicines are due, and this often creates a lot of stress for busy nurses ... The story this morning was told with tears streaming down my classmate’s face that expressed more than words could ever tell of how disappointed she was, as a student nurse, to have not completed the assigned task of giving meds to her 17 patients in the two-hour window of time.

Charge nurse with less than a year RN experience???!!

by RNpandoraRN

Recently one of the nurses I work with began training to be charge on our 30-bed (very busy!) med/surg unit. Teaching Effectively in Very Large Classrooms

by VickyRN

There is a huge difference in teaching 30 students, as opposed to 140 students. Large classrooms can be noisy, crowded, and full of distractions. The students can be disrespectful and out of control, with pockets of students texting, carrying on private conversations, and coming and going at will. Sound familiar? Learning strategies that work well in small groups are often inappropriate for such large audiences. What strategies, then, can the nurse educator use to facilitate a positive learning environment in large classrooms?

by barleany78

I recently applied to Kent State's Summer 09 BSN program and I'm just waiting to hear back if they've accepted me or not. I emailed the school about when to hear back and they said possibly mid March. Just wondering if anyone has applied for the Summer program and if they've heard back yet?

by brian

The shortage has drawn the attention of President Barack Obama.
